Award-winning a capella group Acapellago brings pride anew to the Philippines as they bagged yet another victory at the recently held Asian Cup A Capella Competition in Kagawa, Japan. Acapellago, whose members include Michelle Pascual, Almond Bolante, Joshua Cadeliña, Ronnel Allen Laderas, and Ricky Gavin Laderas won amongst 7 other a capella groups in the competition held last August 9 at the Rexxam Hall of the Kagawa Prefectural Hall in Takamatsu, Kagawa. Aside from being the grand champion, they were also hailed as the VoiceJam Awardee which earns them the privilege to perform in next year’s VoiceJam Festival to be held in the U.S.
It’s been a great year for Acapellago as they also won the 1st place in medium vocal ensemble category in Moscow Spring Acapella just last May. This is an addition to their string of achievements for the past years including last year’s Awit Awards where they won “Best Vocal Arrangement” for their song Peroplano. This year, Acapellago is a finalist once again for the same category for their song “Kariton.”
With the multiple trophies they hold from their competitions in various countries, it’s no surprise how people around the world are getting to know. This was seen in their very successful “Acapellago Live In Taiwan” tour which happened last June.
To celebrate Acapellago’s triumph from their competition in Japan, they are going to hold a victory concert this August 23, Friday at The Music Hall At Metrowalk where they will sing award-winning pieces.
