Krista Cariño Sullivan, widely known by herscreen name Bela Padilla, was born on May 3, 1991 to British Cornelius Gary Sullivan and Filipina Margarette Cariño. Bela’s mother Margarette is maternal cousin to the famous Padilla brothers (Robin, Rommel and BB Gandanghari).
Bela was discovered by ABS-CBN talent scout Jet Valle and became part of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic Batch 15. After joining Star Magic, she was cast in ABS-CBN’s Star Magic Presents: Abt Ur Luv Ur Lyf 2. She also played a minor role in GMA Network’s Totoy Bato and became a regular cast on TV 5’s Lokomoko High.
As a model, Bela received the Media Darling award and Miss Friendship award at the 2011 Asian Super Model Contest. As an actress, Bela won the FAMAS Best Supporting Actress award for her work in the film ’10,000 Hours’.
In 2015, she became a regular cast in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, but her character was killed off after her contract with ABS-CBN has ended.
Bela’s following grew even more when she starred in the film Camp Sawi, which is the brainchild of Bela herself and her boyfriend Neil Arce.
